District Charitable Foundation

The District Charitable Foundation (“DCF”) is an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3) that is available to the District and all Clubs. The purpose of the DCF is to assist in fundraising that benefits local charities and other international projects that meet the current IRS nonprofit 501(c)(3) guidelines.

In utilizing the DCF, there are a variety of advantages for the District and Clubs such as they can solicit donations and direct the distributions of such funds to support the charitable projects of their choice. The DCF tracks and provides periodic accounting of all donated funds, writes check(s) to specified charities and is responsible for required year-end tax reporting of financial records. Additionally, certain officers and Directors may be able to give guidance as to fundraising efforts consistent with Rotary International and District 5320 policies and objectives.

If the District or Club is interested in utilizing the DCF to support a charitable project, the Terms & Conditions are as follows:

  • A request form must be submitted and approved at least 45 days prior to a fundraising event. The same procedure is followed if the DCF is being utilized to receive funds under a donor designated program (see attached form)
  • The DCF charges a 3% administrative fee to cover handing and tax reporting
  • Fundraising expenses can be reimbursed (as permitted by IRS 501(c)(3) guidelines) up to 10% of funds deposited with the DCF per event.

If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the District Administrator (Telephone 714 921-1881, e-mail admin@rotary5320.com) who will have a DCF Board member contact you at your convenience.
